General Surgery Department of the Kursk State Medical University, Kursk At the moment of admission to the hospital patients with diffuse peritonitis are found to have significant disorders of cellular and humoral immunity, complement system, functional-metabolic activity of neutrophiles, cytokine balance, processes of lipid peroxidation and anti-oxidant protection, which are getting worse in the first 24 hours after operation. The standard pharmacotherapy provided in postoperative period in this group of patients partially improves the changed indicators of immune and oxidant status that is correlating with the development of inflammatory complications.
