Ivanovskiy Virology SRI, Moscow Structural injuries of respiratory epitheliocytes and capillary endothelial cells of interalveolar septae were revealed at dromal period (7 day) of experimental modeling West Nile fever on mice. The prominent ultrastructural alterations were found in respiratory epitheliocytes of interalveolar septae for the 14-th day of experiment, and, obviously, mediated by direct cytopathic action of West Nile virus and cytotoxic influence of activated alveolar macrophages.
